| THE TERM "film-like" is one that gets overused by TV reviewers faced with describing a pleasing picture. But even Geoff Morrison, an avowed enemy of trite descriptions, found himself repeatedly using "film-like" to characterize the picture put out by Samsung PN59D8000 59-Inch 1080p 600Hz 3D Plasma HDTV , so there must be something to it. | better ones out there — there's even an integrated Web browser you can navigate using Samsung's special remote, which has a QWERTY keyboard with a directional pad on the reverse side. Beyond that, extensive picture settings, including a 10-step color-temperature adjustment, go far toward helping you dial in a film-like picture. While found the PN59D8000's 3D performance to be above average, its handling of 2D is what really captured his attention. Focusing on a shot from Avatar of Sigourney Weaver, he noted that "her hair retained its light auburn hue, as opposed to the more reddish tinge I've seen on many other TVs."
